What's Eating You?

This thought has been resonating in my mind since listening to Les Brown recently. He was speaking on the importance of doing the thing that we were all created to do. Les, shared the story of a woman who wanted to become a motivational speaker, she doubted herself and wanted to know from him if he thought she could do it. He affirmed that yes, she had everything to become an excellent speaker, however, her husband did not support her, and couldn't see or believe in her.

The story did not end on a positive note though, he planned for her to join him on stage and he was looking forward to seeing her. However, he received a call from her husband and that she died three days prior.

It had me thinking, and I am asking you, what is that thing that you want to do, that you require validation for and in not receiving it, it's eating away at you? The reality is that as humans we look for and desire the approval of others in some form or other. It could be the decision to make a big purchase, going back to college, follow your passion, etc. We are excited about the opportunities, however, our inner circle or front row applauders can't believe with us. When they can't cheer us on it puts a block in our way, it hinders us from moving from where we are.

If allowed it will eat away at us, we are afraid to take a step because we are concerned about the thoughts of others and we struggle with what they think and what we need to do. Can I tell you, if there is something that you want to do that you are very passionate about and it gets you fired up each and every day, "JUST DO IT!" Don't wait around for someone to give you permission to do it, you may never receive that approval.

Some people just can't give you what they don't have. So today, don't allow doubts and thoughts of regret and the missed opportunities to eat away at you. You have been given a second chance, use it. I can confidently say this to you because it was a place that I was stuck in for far too long, waiting on the approval of others to make a move and when I didn't get it, I was hurt and stuck. Then, I received a second chance and I grasped and grabbed ahold of it with both hands.

DON'T live an unfulfilled life, DON'T let anything eat away at you, instead, YOU eat away at what fulfills your life, YOU are your biggest cheerleader and motivator.

I believe in YOU!
